The Rural Fund is proud to announce our affiliation with retired NFL player Roosevelt Potts who joins us as Brand Ambassador
The Rural Fund’s new Brand Ambassador, retired NFL Fullback Roosevelt Potts, is a rural American success story. Potts enjoyed a 6-year NFL career from 1993 to 1998, including one season with the Baltimore Ravens and 5 years with the Indianapolis Colts. The Colts have recognized Potts as an Honorary Horseshoe Legend.
Prior to being drafted in the second round by the Indianapolis Colts, Potts set college rushing records that still stand today at the University of Louisiana at Monroe (ULM), then known as Northeast Louisiana University.

ULM is 20 miles from Potts’s hometown, Rayville, Louisiana, where Potts led the town’s Friday Night Lights culture. Potts drew the national media to rural Rayville High School to cover his Media Day announcement of where he’d play college football.
In the years since Potts’s high school playing days, the Friday Night Lights culture has gradually left Rayville. The town is quiet and in desperate need of investment.
Potts will work with our marketing and investor relations teams to help build awareness and raise capital. “I’m excited to help make my hometown what it was when I was in high school and to give opportunities to the young people growing up there,” said Potts when asked why he is promoting and investing in the Rural Fund.
Meta is building its largest AI data center in the world, so-called Hyperion, in Richland Parish, Louisiana, where Potts played high school football. Other famous Rayvillians include country music superstar Tim McGraw and NBA “50 Greatest Players” honoree Elvin “The Big E” Hayes.
Spurred by Meta’s planned $10B investment in the parish, the Rural Fund has selected Richland Parish as a community for private investment.
